BNK Kyongnam Bank Signs Business Agreement with Gimhae City and Meokkaebi for Activation of Public Delivery App Services

BNK Kyongnam Bank is strengthening its cooperation to support regional economic recovery and ease the management burden on small business owners.


On December 11, BNK Kyongnam Bank signed a business agreement with Gimhae City and Meokkaebi Co., Ltd. for the activation of public delivery app services.

The signing ceremony, held at Gimhae City Hall, was attended by Kim Taehan, President of BNK Kyongnam Bank, Hong Taeyong, Mayor of Gimhae, Kim Joohyung, CEO of Meokkaebi Co., Ltd., and other officials.


This business agreement was designed to combine the financial and digital capabilities, policy support, technology, and business expertise of the participating organizations to secure new drivers for regional innovation and growth. It also aims to strengthen cooperation on Gimhae City's public delivery app policy, thereby stabilizing livelihoods, revitalizing related policies, and establishing a virtuous cycle for the local economy.


In particular, BNK Kyongnam Bank plans to build a dedicated public delivery channel within its mobile banking app, providing an integrated service that allows everything from merchant registration to ordering and payment to be handled in one place.


Additionally, the bank will actively cooperate in promoting the public delivery app and attracting new merchants by conducting events targeting Gimhae citizens.


Gimhae City will use its official promotional channels, such as social media, the city newsletter, and electronic billboards, to raise awareness of the public delivery app "Meokkaebi" and encourage its use. The city will also work to recruit new merchants and increase citizen participation through meetings with local community organizations in towns and districts.


Meokkaebi Co., Ltd. will provide special benefits to BNK Kyongnam Bank customers, such as discount coupons for new sign-ups and additional reward points. The company also plans to supply various promotional materials free of charge to merchants to encourage more businesses to register with the public delivery app.

Launched officially in May 2022, Meokkaebi operates through a public-private partnership model and has established itself as a small business-friendly platform by applying a nationwide lowest commission rate of 1.5%.


Hong Taeyong, Mayor of Gimhae, stated, "With this agreement, I hope Gimhae's public delivery app will further grow as a key public platform that revitalizes the local economy. Gimhae City will continue to provide various forms of support so that small business owners receive tangible help and citizens enjoy even more benefits."


Kim Taehan, President of BNK Kyongnam Bank, said, "We expect this business agreement to help reduce commission burdens for local small business owners and also lower dining expenses for Gimhae citizens. We hope that through BNK Kyongnam Bank's mobile banking, both small business owners and citizens will find it even more convenient to use the public delivery app. We will continue to take the lead in regional cooperation with Gimhae City and Meokkaebi."


Kim Joohyung, CEO of Meokkaebi Co., Ltd., commented, "We will present a new model for mutual growth created by financial institutions and delivery platforms working together. The three organizations will unite their efforts to provide a stable business environment for small business owners and reasonable benefits for consumers in partnership with Gimhae City."


Meanwhile, to commemorate the signing of the business agreement for the activation of public delivery app services, starting December 11, Gimhae-based customers who place an order of at least 12,000 won on Meokkaebi can receive and use a 2,000 won discount coupon. (The event will end when the budget is exhausted.)


Additionally, 200 million won worth of Gimhae public delivery app exclusive vouchers, which can only be used on Meokkaebi, will be specially issued at a 13% discount rate.


The purchase limit per person is 300,000 won, and the vouchers can be purchased through the BNK Kyongnam Bank mobile banking app, BipplePay, and other channels.
