According to the center on the 11th, the event was attended by major local figures, including Kwon Ikhyeon, the Governor of Buan County, and about 200 volunteers. The conference began with a celebratory performance by a talent donation volunteer group, followed by a screening of a volunteer activity video and an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding volunteers.
At this year’s conference, a total of 37 individuals were honored as outstanding volunteers across seven categories, including the Buan County Governor's Plaque of Merit for contributions to volunteer work.
Jung Heunggui, Director of the Center, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank all the volunteers who, without fail, have shared precious acts of kindness and valuable good deeds for our neighbors throughout the year. Your dedication and generosity are truly the driving force behind creating a warm Buan where we can all smile together."
Kwon Ikhyeon, Governor of Buan County, stated, "The volunteers of Buan County, who dedicate their time for others, expect no reward or compensation, and continue to serve selflessly, are a precious light in our community. I hope you will continue to share hope and enrich the lives of our neighbors for a sustainable Buan over the next 100 years."
Meanwhile, the Volunteer Day ceremony is held every December to commemorate the "International Volunteer Day" (December 5) established by the United Nations in 1985, reaffirm the value and significance of volunteering, recognize those who put it into practice, boost morale, and encourage participation.
