95.7% Say They Want to Continue Living in Gwangjin District Five Years from Now
Gwangjin District in Seoul (Mayor Kim Kyungho) has achieved its highest level of resident satisfaction since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration. On December 11, the district announced the results of the "2025 Happy Gwangjin Resident Satisfaction Survey," which was conducted from November 1 to 16 among 1,000 residents aged 18 and older.
The satisfaction rate for the administration of the 8th popularly elected government was 97.3%. Satisfaction with the living environment was even higher at 98.7%. Additionally, 95.7% of respondents said they would like to continue living in Gwangjin District five years from now.
In the evaluation of the district's 30th anniversary, 81.1% responded that "Gwangjin District has developed over the past 30 years." The most notable areas of development were housing and living environment, roads and transportation, and parks and green spaces.
The most highly rated policy areas were cleaning and environment, followed by roads, transportation, and parking, and then parks and green spaces. Residents also felt the most tangible achievements in the areas of cleaning and environment, parks and green spaces, and roads, transportation, and parking, in that order.
The top-ranked project among the 10 outstanding initiatives of the 8th popularly elected administration was the "2040 Gwangjin Re-Creation Plan." Second place went to the "Cleanup of Street Vendors around Konkuk University Entrance Station," and third place was the "Six-Day-a-Week Household Waste Collection System." Other notable projects included "Improvement of Achasan Mountain Usage Environment," "Expansion of U-turn Areas and Other Traffic System Improvements," and "Establishment of Public Parking Lots." The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews by Gallup Korea. The sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, stated, "I am deeply grateful that the various policies we have pursued for the development of Gwangjin District have received such positive evaluations," adding, "We will continue to listen to the voices of our residents and do our utmost to make Gwangjin District an even better place to live."
