The footage, filmed at Sun Asia Ocean World Aquarium in Dalian, Liaoning Province, shows a man smoking a cigarette. The man ignored a no-smoking sign and lit his cigarette despite warnings from aquarium staff. At that moment, a beluga whale suddenly leaped from the water and accurately sprayed water onto the man's head.

This put out the cigarette, and the man, now soaked and disheveled, left the area. After extinguishing the fire, the beluga whale surfaced confidently and let out a joyful sound.

Viewers of the video responded enthusiastically, leaving comments such as "So smart," "That was satisfying," and "Better than people." Some, however, questioned its authenticity, suggesting, "Isn't this an AI-generated video?" and "This is clearly staged."

In fact, it was reported that the video was staged for fire safety awareness purposes. According to Beijing News on December 8, the beluga whale in the video, named Shiliu, has lived at the aquarium for eight years and has already participated in fire drills. On those occasions, when a firefighter in protective gear lit a fire, Shiliu promptly sprayed water to extinguish the flames.
