Boseong Police Station in South Jeolla Province announced on December 10 that it had urgently arrested a 58-year-old man, identified as A, on charges of murdering his wife with a weapon.
A is accused of fatally stabbing his wife, identified as B, with a weapon at their home in Beolgyo-eup, Boseong County, at approximately 10:58 p.m. the previous day.
According to the investigation, immediately after committing the crime, A called 112 himself to report what he had done.
When police and fire authorities arrived at the scene in response to the emergency call, B was already deceased.
B was confirmed to be a Vietnamese-born woman who became a naturalized citizen 15 years ago.
The police are investigating the exact motive and circumstances of the incident.
