Former Managers Directly Refute:
"No Apology or Agreement Was Made"
Comedian Park Narae, who suspended her activities due to allegations of power abuse against her managers and illegal medical practices, claimed to have "cleared up misunderstandings" with her former managers. However, the former managers have categorically denied this, intensifying the conflict between the two sides.
According to a Channel A report on the 9th, the former managers acknowledged that they had a conversation with Park Narae for about three hours, but insisted, "There was no apology and no agreement was reached."
They expressed to Park Narae, "We have endured this for a month. We can't do it anymore," but stated that Park Narae responded instead with a suggestion to "then let's go to court."
Regarding Park Narae's official statement that "the misunderstanding has been resolved," the former managers said, "We were dumbfounded when we saw the claim that the misunderstanding was resolved. It felt like the meeting was only held so she could release a statement," adding, "It seemed like an attempt to buy time and sway public opinion."
Park Narae's agency did not provide any particular response to these claims.
Previously, on the 8th, Park Narae announced in a statement that she would suspend her broadcasting activities, saying, "In early November, two managers who were like family to me suddenly resigned, and as I did not have the opportunity to speak with them until recently, misunderstandings accumulated between us." She added, "It was only yesterday that I was able to meet with my former managers face-to-face, and we were able to resolve the misunderstandings and distrust between us."
On the 3rd, Park Narae's former managers filed for a provisional seizure of her real estate at the Seoul Western District Court, claiming that they had suffered workplace harassment including aggravated assault, sexual harassment, and verbal abuse from Park Narae. On the 5th, they also filed a police complaint at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, accusing her of aggravated assault, defamation by spreading false information, and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act. They have also announced plans to file a damages lawsuit seeking approximately 100 million won in compensation.
In response, Park Narae's side stated, "After severance pay was paid, we were asked for 10% of last year's sales, and when we refused, new allegations continued to be added." Park Narae has filed a counter-complaint against the former managers for blackmail.
Meanwhile, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on the 9th that it had received the complaint filed by Park Narae's former managers on the 8th, accusing her of aggravated assault, defamation by spreading false information, and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation).
