Chief Presidential Secretary Kang Hoonshik announced that the presidential office will soon relocate from Yongsan to the Blue House, marking the end of the Yongsan era. He stated that the move of office facilities is expected to be completed around Christmas.

On December 7, during a press briefing at the Yongsan presidential office to report on the achievements of the Lee Jaemyung administration over the past six months, Chief Kang shared the plans regarding the move back to the Blue House. He said, "The environmental maintenance and telecommunication work at the Blue House have now been completed, and the press briefing room used by journalists will also be relocated to Chunchugwan at the Blue House between the 20th and 23rd." He added, "After the relocation to the Blue House, we plan to further expand online live broadcasts."


Regarding the possible relocation of the presidential office to Sejong City and the broader plan to move the administrative capital, he responded that there will be an opportunity to report these matters to the public. Chief Kang commented, "It might be premature to discuss this in detail," but also noted, "President Lee has previously mentioned that he might even retire in Sejong City. His commitment to balanced national development remains unchanged."


On the issue of relocating the administrative capital, he further explained, "Once discussions have progressed, there will be an opportunity to report to the public."
