On December 6, 2025, the legal team representing Prosecutor Heejun Eom, who is suspected of exerting external pressure during the non-indictment process in the 'Coupang Daily Worker Severance Pay Non-Payment' case, requested the special prosecutor team led by Kwonseop Ahn to investigate Chief Prosecutor Jisuk Moon for false accusation. This request, which can be seen as a counteraction, was submitted on the very first day the special prosecutor officially began the investigation.

Immediately after the inauguration ceremony for the special prosecutor’s office that morning, Eom's attorney visited the office and submitted the investigation request. In a statement, they said, "Prosecutor Eom will actively cooperate with the permanent special prosecutor’s investigation," and added, "If the facts are clarified, we ask that Chief Prosecutor Moon be strictly punished for the crime of false accusation." Eom's side claims that Chief Prosecutor Moon, after recently becoming subject to inspection by the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, falsely accused Eom, who was his superior, in an attempt to evade the inspection.

Eom’s legal team refuted all of Chief Prosecutor Moon’s allegations submitted to the Inspection Department of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, including ▲ omission of evidence seized by the Labor Office ▲ coercion to reach a non-indictment decision ▲ providing a 'guideline' for non-indictment to the lead prosecutor, stating that none of these claims are true. Instead, they argued, "Chief Prosecutor Moon became subject to inspection for conducting a search and seizure unilaterally, in violation of the advance reporting regulations," and claimed, "He made a false accusation against Prosecutor Eom in order to avoid the inspection."

Meanwhile, on the same day, the special prosecutor team officially began investigations into both the Coupang severance pay non-indictment allegations and the 'Kanbongkwon Band Disposal' allegations. Special Prosecutor Ahn stated, "We will uncover the facts of the case from an objective standpoint," and added, "We will make an appropriate decision based on the results of the investigation."
