"Busan and ASEAN A to Z"
Over 60 Participants Explore Busan
University students from eight different countries, each with their own schools and nationalities, gathered on a single campus to take courses together.
The CAMPUS Asia-AIMS Project Group at National Pukyong National University, led by Jeong Beopmo, recently hosted the joint educational program "Busan and ASEAN A to Z," inviting ASEAN university students.
This project group organized the program in collaboration with Yonsei University Mirae Campus, Sookmyung Women's University, Hannam University, Keimyung University, and Busan University of Foreign Studies, aiming to foster talent in ASEAN, maritime, UN, and international cooperation fields.
More than 60 university students from eight countries, including Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Brunei, participated in the program.
They began by touring the ASEAN Culture Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan, and engaged in various exchange activities, such as experiencing natural dyeing, visiting the Suyeong Bay Yacht Stadium, and the UN Peace Memorial Hall, exploring the city of Busan together.
The CAMPUS Asia-AIMS project is an initiative supported by the Ministry of Education, designed to build a foundation for cooperation among these countries by promoting exchanges between students from Korea and ASEAN member states.
After being selected for this project in 2019 and again for the second phase in 2021, National Pukyong National University has operated specialized programs in International Development Cooperation and International Studies. The university is nurturing talent in tourism, trade, and international development cooperation based on Korea-ASEAN languages and cultures.
University students participating in the "Busan and ASEAN A to Z" joint curriculum of the National Pukyong National University AIMS Project Group are gathered in front of the ASEAN Culture Center for a commemorative photo.
