A media art installation in the lobby of the Cheung Kong Center 2 building in Hong Kong is drawing significant attention. This project is a collaboration between architect Draughtzman, media artist team Things That Move's Kenny Wong Chi-Chuen, and field recordist Ak Kan. The core hardware, Media Glass, was supplied by Korea's PTSG Global.

This technology is the world's first outdoor transparent media glass featuring IP68-rated dust and water resistance and a bezel-less design. It is being recognized as a next-generation media solution that can be directly applied to building facades and public spaces.

Cheung Kong Center 2 is a new landmark in the heart of Hong Kong's financial district. The Media Art Wall installed in its lobby has become a symbolic feature that shapes the building's first impression. Designed not as a simple exhibit but as an architectural narrative device, the work was conceived under the perspective that "the first scene of a building begins in the lobby," visually expressing the corporate stature and urban identity of Cheung Kong Center 2.

The theme of the media art for this project was the natural terrain surrounding Hong Kong. Mountain ranges and linear data that form the backbone of the city-such as Lion Rock, Victoria Peak, Lam Tsuen, Pat Sin Leng, Tai Mo Shan, and Ma On Shan-were translated into sculptural rhythms across 56 Powerglass transparent media glass panels, 55 LED light strips, and over 100,000 individual LEDs. As a result, the installation vividly expresses the flow of nature and the city's rhythm during the day, while at night, light and spatial sound provide visitors with a calm and profound sensory experience.

The transparent media glass supplied by PTSG Global is distinguished from conventional LED module-based installations in its implementation. Designed without PCB boards and FPCB cables, it can be used semi-permanently. Since it is made from architectural glass, it maintains clear sightlines and preserves the openness of the lobby space. Thanks to these features, media art created with media glass is not merely a sculptural or installed object, but serves as an expanded digital spatial function that seamlessly integrates with architectural elements.

The Media Art Wall at Cheung Kong Center 2 conveys the building's meaning and the company's philosophy by following the movement and gaze of visitors entering the lobby. Kenny Wong, an artist from the media artist team Things That Move, who participated in this project, stated, "The changes in light and glass symbolize the connection between humans and the environment, demonstrating that the fusion of technology and art can bring new serenity and beauty to urban spaces."

Through this project, PTSG Global's media glass has once again proven its potential for use in real-world applications in the fields of architecture and media art. Joo Doohee, CEO of PTSG Global, remarked, "The media glass ecosystem is now becoming an integral part of architecture and art, beyond the realm of digital signage," and added, "We plan to expand as a core technology for media facades in global architectural projects and public spaces." He also expressed special thanks to architect Draughtzman, Kenny Wong Chi-Chuen of the creative collective Things That Move, and Ak Kan, who was responsible for on-site sound recording, for their collaboration on this project.
