A media art installation in the lobby of Hong Kong's Cheung Kong Center 2 building is drawing significant attention. This project is a collaborative work completed by architect Draughtzman, media artist Kenny Wong Chi-Chuen from the team Things That Move, and field recordist AkKan. The core hardware, Media Glass, utilizes products from Korea's PTSG Global.

This technology is the world's first outdoor transparent media glass to feature an IP68-rated dustproof and waterproof performance, along with a bezel-less design. It is being recognized as a next-generation media solution that can be directly applied to building facades and public spaces.

Cheung Kong Center 2, a new landmark in the heart of Hong Kong's financial district, features a Media Art Wall in its lobby that has become an iconic element shaping the building's first impression. Designed not as a simple exhibit but as an architectural narrative device, the work is based on the idea that "the first scene of a building begins in the lobby." It visually expresses Cheung Kong Center 2's corporate stature and urban identity through a visual language.

The theme of the media art for this project was the natural topography surrounding Hong Kong. Mountain ranges and linear data that form the foundation of the city-such as Lion Rock, Victoria Peak, Lin Chun, Pat Sin Leng, Tai Mo Shan, and Man On Shan-were translated into sculptural rhythms through 56 Powerglass transparent media glass panels, 55 LED light strips, and over 100,000 individual LEDs. As a result, the work presents the energetic flow of nature and the city's rhythm during the day, and at night, the interplay of light and spatial sound offers visitors a refined and deeply sensory experience.

The transparent media glass supplied by PTSG Global distinguishes itself from conventional LED module-based installations in its implementation. Designed without PCB boards and FPCB cables, it offers semi-permanent usability, and, being made of architectural glass, it preserves both visibility and the openness of the lobby space. Thanks to these characteristics, media art created with media glass serves not merely as a sculptural or installed piece but as an expanded digital spatial function that naturally integrates with architectural elements.

The Media Art Wall at Cheung Kong Center 2 serves to convey the building's significance and the company's philosophy by following the movement and gaze of visitors entering the lobby. Kenny Wong, an artist from the media art team Things That Move, commented, "The changes in light and glass symbolize the connection between humans and their environment, demonstrating that the fusion of technology and art can bring new serenity and beauty to urban spaces."

Through this project, PTSG Global's media glass has once again proven its potential for use in real-world applications in architecture and media art. PTSG Global CEO Cho Doohee stated, "The ecosystem of media glass is now truly coming into its own, moving beyond digital signage to become a part of architecture and art." He also announced plans to expand as a core technology for media facades in global architectural projects and public spaces. Cho expressed special thanks to architect Draughtzman, artist Kenny Wong Chi-Chuen from Things That Move, and field sound recordist AkKan, who collaborated on this project.
