This weekend, Gwangju and Jeonnam will experience a significant drop in morning temperatures, resulting in continued cold, while daytime temperatures will rise rapidly, causing the daily temperature difference to reach around 15 degrees Celsius.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, on the 6th, the region will be affected by a high-pressure system moving from the West Sea to the South Sea, resulting in partly cloudy weather at times. Morning lows are forecasted to be between -5 and 0 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs are expected to range from 10 to 14 degrees Celsius.
On the following day, the 7th, the area will again be influenced by a high-pressure system moving eastward from the South Sea, with partly cloudy conditions expected. Morning temperatures are forecasted to be between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperatures between 13 and 17 degrees Celsius.
At sea, winds may be somewhat strong and waves may be high. Until the 7th, it will be the spring tide period, so high tide levels at major points along the southwestern coast, such as Jindo, Mokpo, and Goheung Balpo, are expected to be higher than usual. Precautions should be taken against possible flooding of low-lying coastal areas and sewage backflow.
An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "There will be a very large difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures, especially in inland areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam," and urged people to take care of their health in response to the rapid temperature changes.
