This project was initiated to resolve social conflicts through communication and unity among residents of apartment complexes and other multi-family housing, where 70% of the city's population lives. In this year's project, which involved 27 complexes, residents took the lead in organizing a variety of events such as festivals, concerts, community schools, flea markets, and 'plogging' (jogging while picking up litter).

Starting with nine apartment complexes in 2020, the project has grown to involve more than 15,000 citizens as of this year, through five community hub project groups, 22 apartment community revitalization program sites, and 24 customized educational sessions.

On December 4, the city held a 'Happy Empathy Healing Concert' at Gonggan Mihag in Oseong-myeon for apartment resident representatives and volunteers who participated in the project. The concert, organized to reflect on the project's achievements and facilitate communication, was attended by over 100 people, including heads of resident representative councils, volunteer groups, residents, and building managers.

Jeong Jangseon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek City, stated, "The community revitalization project has helped dispel the negative perception of apartments as isolated spaces and has had a positive effect in reducing social conflict through communication and unity. We will continue to actively support these efforts in the future."
