The Korea Franchise Industry Association Gwangju Jeonnam Branch held its year-end party and the inauguration ceremony for the 8th and 9th presidents at JS Wedding Convention on December 2.
The event recognized the dedication of Kim Taehoon, the 8th president, and his team, who led the branch for the past two years, and celebrated the inauguration of Kim Changsoo as the new 9th president.
In his inaugural address, Kim Changsoo, the new president and CEO of DK Food, stated, "We will make mutual growth and cooperation our core values to usher in a new leap forward for the regional franchise industry." President Kim will lead the association for a two-year term from January 2026 to December 2028.
He presented this year's association slogan as "Growing Tomorrow Together," emphasizing that, especially in challenging economic times, member companies must unite to achieve sustainable growth. He also identified key priorities, including mutual growth between franchisors and franchisees, co-prosperity with the local community, and strengthening on-site communication.
In particular, he announced plans to systematically nurture future franchise management talent through the "Franchise Academy" education program, which is being promoted in collaboration with Gwangju University. He also outlined a strategy to enhance industry competitiveness by expanding AI and data-based educational programs.
President Kim also set forth the goal of developing the Gwangju-Jeonnam Franchise Expo into a signature regional brand festival, aiming to revitalize the local commercial district and provide a platform for member brands to grow.
President Kim Changsoo urged for continued interest and participation, stating, "Together with our member companies, we will create a strong and enjoyable tomorrow of growth."
