Performances by Lee Boram of SeeYa, girl group Lightsum, and singer Jjai
Imsil County in North Jeolla Province announced on December 5 that the "2025 Imsil Santa Festival" will be held for four days from December 25 to 28 at the Imsil Cheese Theme Park and surrounding areas.
Reflecting the increasing trend in visitor numbers from the previous year, the county plans to significantly expand family-oriented experience programs and performance content, as well as enhance transportation facilities, to provide a more comfortable festival environment.
Notably, this year's Santa Festival will feature performances by invited singers for the first time.
On the opening day, December 25, Lee Boram of the renowned vocal group SeeYa will perform. On December 27, the six-member K-pop girl group Lightsum and singer Jjai will take the stage to further energize the festival atmosphere.
In addition, a Santa Parade, Santa Costume Contest, children's musicals, magic and bubble shows, orchestra performances, and other events that people of all ages can enjoy will be held daily. Various experience programs tailored to the preferences of family visitors have also been strengthened.
There will be a wide range of programs offering special winter memories, such as family tree making, cheesecake making, chocolate fondue experiences, cheese curling, an artificial ice rink, and floating ball snowball fights.
In particular, the smelt fishing experience zone, which was very popular last year, will have its area doubled to accommodate the increased number of participants.
The snow sledding area has also been expanded. The existing five-lane, 50-meter-long snow sledding slope has been extended to six lanes and 60 meters, and an additional small sledding slope with four lanes and a length of 48 meters has been added to cater to different age groups and usage patterns.
In front of the Cheese Castle, the landmark of the Cheese Theme Park, a large 10-meter-high Christmas tree will be installed, along with various winter-themed photo zones featuring a Rudolph reindeer sculpture and poinsettia decorations.
At night, decorative lighting will be enhanced to create a more wintry atmosphere, transforming the festival into a nighttime event where visitors can linger and enjoy themselves. To address the inconvenience experienced at food booths due to last year's record number of visitors, this year the number of booths has been greatly increased, including hot chocolate, vin chaud, roasted chestnut and sweet potato experience zones, and additional food stalls.
During the festival, a 20% discount event on ImsilN Cheese and dairy products will also be held, allowing tourists to enjoy a variety of Imsil specialties.
Anticipating larger-than-expected crowds, the county plans to deploy additional professional traffic management staff to minimize congestion for visitors.
County Governor Shim Min stated, "This year's Imsil Santa Festival has been greatly expanded into an experiential festival where families and couples can stay and enjoy a wide range of activities. We have prepared an upgraded event with plenty of attractions, food, experiences, and even gift events. We hope this festival will provide warm and special winter memories for everyone."
