A motorcycle rider was urgently arrested by police after violently assaulting a driver in an alleyway for not yielding the road, resulting in the victim suffering severe brain damage.
On December 5, the Heungdeok Police Station in Cheongju announced that they had urgently arrested a man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of inflicting serious injury and are currently investigating the case.
A is accused of knocking down a man in his 60s, identified as B, and then violently assaulting him on a road in Heungdeok District, Cheongju, at around 7:20 p.m. the previous day, leaving B in a state of brain death.
According to the investigation, A, who works as a delivery motorcycle rider, got into an argument with B after encountering B's car in a narrow alleyway and assaulted him for not yielding the road.
The police are considering applying for an arrest warrant for A.
