Government Employees Pension Service Launches "Digital Rehabilitation Recommendation Platform" for Injured Public Officials

The Government Employees Pension Service announced on December 5 that it has independently developed a "Digital Rehabilitation Recommendation Platform" to support the swift health recovery and stable return to work of public officials who have been approved for work-related medical treatment due to injuries sustained in the line of duty. The service launches today.

This platform is designed to automatically recommend the optimal rehabilitation program tailored to the characteristics of injured public officials, based on decades of accumulated data on work-related injury approvals and rehabilitation services. Through comprehensive analysis of diagnosis, treatment period, and rehabilitation service details, the system provides personalized recommendations. It also visualizes information so that injured public officials can easily check the location and severity of their conditions and the rehabilitation services they need at a glance. In addition, the platform enables users to view severity indices by affected body part in graph form and suggests specific rehabilitation exercises or treatment types through its recommendation system.

Kim Jeongnam, Director of the Compensation Department at the Government Employees Pension Service, stated, "This rehabilitation recommendation platform is the first digital rehabilitation service model built by the Service through in-house data analysis and algorithm development." He added, "We will continue to actively support injured public officials so that they can easily access the rehabilitation services they need."

Going forward, the Service plans to explore innovative ways to provide rehabilitation services for injured public officials by leveraging AI technologies, including the introduction of an "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Rehabilitation Planner."
