Hanwha Systems Produces Most Defense Project Manager Certificate Holders Among Domestic Defense Companies

52% of Successful Candidates in the Defense Industry

Hanwha Systems announced on the 5th that it produced the highest number of successful candidates among domestic defense companies in the 7th National Defense Project Manager National Certification Exam, organized by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.

This exam was held on November 1 at Yongsan High School in Seoul. Out of a total of 984 applicants, 65 ultimately passed. Among them, 31 were employees of defense companies. Hanwha Systems accounted for 16 of the successful candidates, representing about 25% of the total.

The "Defense Project Manager" certification, which proves expertise in defense project management, is the only national qualification in the defense industry awarded by the Minister of National Defense. It is divided into two categories: weapon systems and information systems.

Since this year, Hanwha Systems has been operating a specialized training program for its employees to obtain the Defense Project Manager certification through partnerships with domestic universities. Hanwha Systems employees have continued to be listed among the successful candidates each year, with 16 this year, 12 last year, and 8 in 2023.

A Hanwha Systems representative stated, "This achievement is the result of Hanwha Systems' expertise in defense project management and its systematic talent development program," adding, "Hanwha Systems will continue its efforts to foster defense and defense industry professionals in order to strengthen the Republic of Korea's self-reliant defense capabilities and expand exports."
