Mastern Investment Management, an alternative investment-focused asset management company, announced on December 5 that its Research & Strategy (R&S) Division under the Strategic Planning Department is providing practical insights to domestic and international investors, with a particular focus on the commercial real estate market.
At the Korea Conference of the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV) held on November 21, Ji Hyojin, Head of the Global Research Team at the R&S Division, participated as a moderator and led a session discussing the structural changes in Korea's asset management industry and the potential for connecting with global capital.
In addition to ANREV, Ji Hyojin has been actively engaged as a speaker and moderator at major international conferences such as Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) and Private Debt Investor (PDI). She is recognized as an expert bridging Korean capital and the global real estate market.
Ji is a global finance expert who previously worked at Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung SRA Asset Management, and holds a master's degree in macroeconomic policy and financial markets from Barcelona School of Economics (BSE) in Spain. She is also currently serving as an adjunct professor at Sogang University’s Institute for Future Education.
In the first half of this year, a research paper co-authored by Ji as the first author, as part of the Sogang University Real Estate Interdisciplinary Program research team, received the Outstanding Paper Award at the Korean Association for Property Appraisal Studies Conference. The paper analyzed the impact of variables such as interest rates and exchange rates on transaction volumes in the office REITs markets of the United States, Japan, and Australia, providing important implications for establishing global real estate investment strategies.
The R&S Division at Mastern Investment Management is composed of the Strategic Research Team and the Global Research Team, both under the leadership of Executive Director Yoo Myunghan. Leveraging each team's expertise, the division conducts in-depth research activities such as publishing regular reports on the commercial real estate market.
Executive Director Yoo Myunghan, who also serves as the Head of the Strategic Research Team, holds a Ph.D. in Urban Engineering and is regarded as one of the top real estate research experts in the industry. Yoo has previously worked at Woori Bank’s Real Estate Research Team, IGIS Asset Management’s Asset Management Team, and served as Head of Research at Avison Young Korea. He is currently an adjunct professor at Hanyang University’s Graduate School of Real Estate Convergence and at the International Urban Science Graduate School at the University of Seoul. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Academic Committee at the Korea Real Estate Finance Investment Forum.
The Strategic Research Team presented a data-driven outlook for investment decisions through its report, "Korean Real Estate Market Outlook for the Second Half of 2025," which comprehensively analyzed market trends and economic conditions, focusing on the domestic office and logistics sectors.
The Global Research Team also provided multifaceted perspectives on global market recovery and capital reallocation trends through reports such as "Beyond the Barriers: 2025 Global Commercial Property Market Outlook" and "Mastern Insight - From Pause to Play."
