This is the first time since the 2016 academic year that a current student in Gwangju has achieved a perfect score on the CSAT. Since 2000, there have been a total of five perfect scorers in Gwangju, in the 2001, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016 academic years. This marks the sixth instance.

Choi Jangwoo, who is in the humanities and social sciences track, answered every question correctly in Korean (Language and Media), Mathematics (Calculus), and Social Studies (Economics and Society·Culture). He also received the highest grade (Grade 1) in both English and Korean History. He has already passed the first stage of the early admission process for the Department of Economics at Seoul National University.

Choi Jangwoo said, "My dream is to become the top economist in Korea, and I am happy that this result has brought me one step closer to my dream."

Based on the official scoring results, the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will hold an information session for third-year high school teachers at the auditorium of the Gwangju Education Research and Information Institute on December 11 in the afternoon. At 7 p.m. the same day, a briefing session for students and parents on regular admissions strategies will be held. From December 19 to 23, one-on-one intensive counseling will be available at the Gwangju Career and College Counseling Center.

Superintendent Lee Jeongseon stated, "The CSAT scores reflect the results of students' hard work," adding, "I hope students achieve their dreams, and we will actively support them so they can become talents who lead Korea."

To strengthen public education-based college admissions support, the Office of Education has implemented various policies, including a year-round career and college counseling system, assigning one college admissions director per school, and conducting its own mock exam, 'Gwangju Final Completion.'
