On December 5, Gwangju and South Jeolla Province are expected to experience sub-zero temperatures accompanied by strong winds, with light snow flurries anticipated in some areas. As the rain and snow from the previous day may freeze and create icy roads, extra caution is advised for traffic safety.

The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration forecasted, "Due to the influence of a high-pressure system moving over the West Sea near the Shandong Peninsula in China, morning temperatures will drop below freezing, resulting in very cold conditions." Morning temperatures are expected to range from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperatures from 6 to 9 degrees Celsius. The strong winds will make it feel even colder.

A strong wind advisory has been issued for the west coast of South Jeolla Province, where gusts are expected to exceed 20 meters per second, and inland areas are likely to see wind speeds around 15 meters per second. A high seas warning is in effect for the entire southern part of the West Sea, with waves reaching heights of 1.5 to 3.5 meters.

Precipitation is expected to be minimal, with less than 0.1 millimeters of rain or less than 0.1 centimeters of snow flurries. This increases the risk of icy roads. Snow that melts during the day is likely to refreeze, causing slippery conditions in many areas, especially on shaded secondary roads and slopes, so extra caution is needed to prevent slip accidents.

There is also a possibility of flooding in low-lying coastal areas during high tide. Due to the influence of the spring tide, sea levels are expected to rise significantly in areas such as Jindo, Mokpo, and Goheung Balpo, with maximum tidal heights increasing substantially. An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "Attention should be paid to facility management and safety near coastal areas."
