Global Topnet CEO Hyunho Lee announced on December 5 that he received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award for Technological Innovation at the "2025 Innobiz Day" held at the Grand Mercure Imperial Palace.
Innobiz Day is an annual year-end event hosted by the Innobiz Association (Association of Technology Innovation-based SMEs) to celebrate achievements and innovations throughout the year, boost morale, and inspire continued commitment to technological innovation.
This award is a government commendation presented to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in technological innovation among Korean SMEs. Recipients are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of technology development, national contribution, and industrial impact.
Hyunho Lee was recognized for developing Korea’s first server technology based on fluorinated ketone (FK-5-1-12) gas cooling and fire suppression systems, which has dramatically improved the stability and efficiency of high-heat AI computing environments.
This technology is a next-generation safety and cooling solution that automatically extinguishes fires in server racks at an early stage while rapidly controlling heat generation. It is highly regarded for enhancing data center safety and reducing energy consumption.
Based on this technology, Global Topnet has secured domestic competitiveness in servers for the AI and cloud industries and has played a key role in developing the regional industrial ecosystem, being selected as a Busan Anchor Company and a Hidden Champion. In particular, the commercialization of domestic server technology is significant for reducing reliance on foreign products in the data center industry and for strengthening national technological sovereignty.
Hyunho Lee stated, "I have dedicated myself to research and development with the goal of building AI server infrastructure that can compete in the global market with domestic technology," and added, "With this award as a milestone, we will further expand the AI infrastructure ecosystem based on Korean technology."
Meanwhile, Global Topnet is expanding its lineup of high-efficiency server products equipped with eco-friendly cooling and fire suppression technology, and is broadening its supply to public institutions, large enterprises, and industrial sectors. The company is also delivering products through the Public Procurement Service’s Nara Marketplace, based on its data center server technology.
