The individual who posted a threat of a stabbing attack targeting Dongduk Women's University, which has decided to transition to a coeducational system, has been apprehended by the police.
On December 4, the Namdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced that, in cooperation with the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, they had arrested a teenage woman, identified as A, who resides in Masan, on charges of public intimidation.
A is accused of posting a photo of a bag containing a knife along with the message in English, "I am ready to go to school," on social media the previous day, specifically targeting Dongduk Women's University.
The police began tracking down the author after receiving a report the previous afternoon that a post threatening a stabbing at Dongduk Women's University had appeared online.
A police official stated, "Regardless of the actual intent to carry out the act, such behavior is a clear crime that creates public anxiety and disrupts social safety. We will thoroughly pursue and strictly punish any acts of intimidation targeting the general public."
