On December 4, Sunyoung Park, Chairperson of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, posted on her social networking service (SNS) Facebook, "These days, Lee Boo-jin, President of Hotel Shilla, is making headlines. No, it's actually her son who's making headlines," adding, "Her son, Mr. Lim, a third-year student at Whimoon High School, reportedly got only one question wrong on this year's CSAT. He never missed the top spot in his class even when he attended Whimoon Middle School."

Chairperson Park continued, "These days, anyone with a bit of money, whether celebrities or semi-chaebols, tries to send their children abroad, starting with English kindergartens. But Lee Boo-jin, the Samsung heiress who lacks neither money nor connections nor anything else, sent her son to elementary, middle, and high school all in Korea. That fact alone makes me feel grateful."

She added, "I hear he will also attend university in Korea. It's not medical school, which everyone seems to want." According to some media reports, Lee's son hopes to enter the business school at Seoul National University.

Chairperson Park stated, "I hope our broken education system can be restored thanks to President Lee. The issue of students studying abroad is already being pointed out in many places, even if it is not apparent on the surface." She added, "My own children also studied entirely in Korea. I always felt guilty for not sending them abroad for English training, but thanks to President Lee, Korean mothers can now feel proud."

Lee Boo-jin's passion for education has been highlighted several times before. She drew attention for personally attending her son's school presentations and maintaining steady communication with local parents. In 2018, when her son was entering middle school, she moved her residence from Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, leading to speculation that the move was to facilitate her son's entry into the prestigious Gangnam 8 School District.

After graduating from Gyeonggi Elementary School, Lee's son attended Whimoon Middle School and is currently a third-year student at Whimoon High School. He has consistently maintained top academic performance throughout both middle and high school, earning the reputation of being an "Umchina" (mom's friend's son) among Gangnam parents. With news that he missed only one question on the CSAT, various speculations and analyses are circulating among parents regarding his study methods and future academic choices.
