Seowon Valley 11th Hole Plays 0.72 Strokes Over Par
Rainbow Hills 15th Hole Averages 4.33 Strokes
Namseoul, La Vie Est Belle, and Blue Heron Also Prove Challenging
The 11th hole at Seowon Valley and the 15th hole at Rainbow Hills proved to be the most difficult this year. These holes were the toughest challenges for players on both the Korea Professional Golfers’ Association (KPGA) Tour and the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.
KPGA Tour players struggled at the Woori Financial Championship, which was held at Seowon Valley Country Club in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Players were particularly frustrated by the 11th hole (par 4, 514 yards) of the Seowon Course at Seowon Valley. The average score on this hole was 4.72 strokes, which is 0.72 strokes above par. Over the four days, the green-in-regulation rate was only 17.46%, and the average number of putts was 2.15.

During the tournament, there were only four birdies on the 11th hole. In contrast, there were 198 bogeys, 42 double bogeys, and 5 triple bogeys. The 11th hole yielded the fewest birdies and the most bogeys and double bogeys of the season. The tournament winner, Lee Taehun (Canada), performed well on the 11th hole. Although he made a bogey in the second round, he managed to make par in the first, third, and fourth rounds.
Following the 11th hole at Seowon Course, the 16th hole (par 4, 535 yards) at Namseoul Country Club in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, was also challenging. This was the course for the 44th GS Caltex Maekyung Open. The average score on this hole was 4.59 strokes. Next was the 9th hole (par 4, 471 yards) at La Vie Est Belle Country Club Dunes Course in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, where the 67th Kolon Korea Open was held. The average score there was 4.57 strokes.
The easiest hole of the season was the 6th hole (par 5, 553 yards) at Golfzon County Yeongam45 Kyle Phillips Course in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, where the KPGA Founders Cup was held. The average score was 4.33 strokes. Over four days, players made 245 birdies and 21 eagles on this hole.

On this year’s KLPGA Tour, the most challenging hole for players was the 15th hole (par 4, 335 yards) at Rainbow Hills in Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do, where the 39th DB Group Korea Women’s Open was held. The average score soared to 4.44 strokes. At the 7th hole (par 4, 427 yards) of Bears Best Cheongna in Incheon, which hosted the Hana Financial Group Championship, players averaged 4.43 strokes to complete the hole.
The 15th hole (par 4, 420 yards) at Blue Heron in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, where the 25th Hite Jinro Championship was held, recorded an average of 4.93 strokes. Next, the 8th hole (par 3, 179 yards) at Kingsdale in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do, the site of the Deoksin EPC Championship, had an average score of 3.37 strokes. The 7th hole (par 4, 427 yards) at High1 Country Club in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, which hosted the High1 Resort Women’s Open, also recorded an average of 4.35 strokes.
