WiseApp·Retail Analysis: ChatGPT Ranks No.1 in November Users, Followed by Perplexity and A.Dot
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok AI, ixi-O, and Claude Reach All-Time High User Numbers
On December 4, WiseApp·Retail, a real-time app and payment data-based market and competitor analysis solution, announced the results of its survey on the monthly active users (MAU) of major generative artificial intelligence (AI) apps.
According to a sample survey of Korean smartphone users conducted by WiseApp·Retail, the most widely used generative AI app among Koreans in November 2025 was ChatGPT, which recorded 21.62 million monthly active users. This was followed by Perplexity with 1.84 million users, A.Dot with 1.8 million, Rytune with 1.62 million, Grok AI with 980,000, ixi-O with 540,000, Claude with 480,000, Google Gemini with 420,000, Microsoft Copilot with 300,000, and DeepSeek with 270,000.
In November, the generative AI apps that recorded their highest-ever number of users since launch were ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok AI, ixi-O, and Claude.
This survey was conducted by WiseApp·Retail, a real-time app and payment data-based market and competitor analysis solution, through a sample of Korean Android and iOS smartphone users. The generative AI apps selected for the survey were those with dedicated apps that provide interactive AI services such as information search, and content generation for text or images, or function as personal assistants. Apps specialized in specific features such as photo taking, note-taking, or translation were excluded from the survey.
