Visiting Five Towns and Townships
Providing Daily Life, Medical, and Welfare Services
Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on December 3 that it has successfully concluded this year’s “Hope Talent Sharing Group” on-site integrated health and welfare service program, with the final event held in Gijang-eup.
The “Hope Talent Sharing Group” is a public-private partnership program in which public and private service organizations visit local residents directly to provide a variety of customized services in daily life, medical care, and welfare. Each year, the county visits five towns and townships in rotation, helping residents conveniently access the support they need in their daily lives.
This year’s schedule began in June at the Jeonggwan Senior Welfare Center (Jeonggwan-eup), followed by the main branch of Dongbusan Nonghyup in Jangan-eup in August, the Cheolma-myeon Community Center in September, the Ilgwang Senior Welfare Center in October, and finally the Gijang Dahangbokhan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Gijang-eup in November, for a total of five events. At each event, 60 to 70 public and private volunteers participated, providing a wide range of resident-centered welfare services. Approximately 800 residents attended in total, receiving around 2,600 services. The county explained, “Resident satisfaction was high due to the one-stop service delivery.”
The final event of the year was held on November 28 in the first-floor auditorium of the Gijang-eup welfare center, with cooperation from the Dahangbokhan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. A total of 14 organizations participated on-site, including Gijang Hospital, Ilgwang Korean Medicine Hospital, Busan Functional Education Association, Gijang County Beauty Association, Law Firm Igyum, Gijang County Mental Health Welfare Center, and Gijang County Dementia Relief Center.
More than 160 residents who attended the event were able to access a variety of services in one place, including hospital and Korean medicine consultations, clothing alterations, stamp making, beauty and hairdressing services, legal consultations, nail art, horticultural therapy (herbarium making), and various welfare consultations.
One resident expressed high satisfaction, saying, “It was very convenient to receive all the necessary support at once without having to travel far.”
Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, stated, “We will continue to improve the inconveniences residents experience in their daily lives, and build a welfare community where everyone can enjoy a comfortable and healthy life.”
Gijang County is operating the 5th Hope Talent Sharing Group in 2025 at the Gijang Dahangbok Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and is taking a commemorative photo.
