WSI: EZMediBot's 'World's First Uterine Elevator Robot' Receives U.S. Patent Registration Decision, Accelerating Global Expansion

The U-BOT is the world's first assistive robot for gynecological laparoscopic surgery that automates the process of elevating the uterus. This patent covers core technologies, including a joint assembly that enables precise adjustment of the uterine angle through three-axis movement-pitching, yawing, and rolling.

EZMediBot is currently undergoing product approval procedures with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea and aims to complete item approval in the first half of next year. The company also plans to pursue CE certification in Europe and FDA approval in the United States to enter the European and American markets.

Last month, the company also received a notice of patent registration from the European Patent Office (EPO). It is currently registering patents in 19 European countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy. With the addition of the U.S. patent registration, the company has secured intellectual property rights in major medical device markets such as Korea, Europe, and the United States.

A WSI representative stated, "The decision to register the U.S. patent is global recognition of U-BOT's technological capabilities," adding, "This lays the foundation for our entry into the global medical robot market."

The representative further noted, "After completing domestic approval in the first half of next year, we plan to begin full-scale exports focusing on the European and U.S. markets in the second half of the year."

Meanwhile, EZMediBot plans to expand its medical robot portfolio by launching the B-BOT for brain surgery and the E-BOT for skull base surgery in 2026, and the C-BOT for cardiovascular procedures in 2028, following the U-BOT.
