Kangwon Cho, CEO of the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure solutions company MOREH, received the Prime Minister's Commendation at the 26th Software Industry Day ceremony held on December 1.
The Software Industry Day event, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency and the Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association, aims to elevate the status of Korea's software industry professionals and recognize their contributions. Each year, individuals who have contributed to the revitalization of the industry are selected and awarded.
Cho was recognized for his contributions to the development of AI accelerator optimization software, which has advanced the self-reliance of AI infrastructure software technology and strengthened the nation's AI competitiveness. For these achievements, he received the Prime Minister's Commendation in the category of contributors to the advancement of the software industry.
Cho stated, "I am delighted that our efforts to develop an alternative capable of transforming the exclusive global AI infrastructure software ecosystem since our founding have been recognized," and added, "We will continue to strive for growth as a leading technology company by pursuing R&D and expanding into overseas markets through collaboration with global enterprises."
MOREH is developing the core engine of AI infrastructure in-house and has secured comprehensive technological capabilities, including the model domain, through its foundation large language model (LLM) subsidiary, Motif Technologies. The company is gaining prominence in the global market by collaborating with major partners such as AMD, Tenstorrent, and SGLang.
Recently, MOREH introduced a jointly developed AI data center solution that combines its AI platform 'MoAI' with the Galaxy Wormhole server from global AI semiconductor company Tenstorrent. This solution is designed to perform large-scale AI inference and training more efficiently and economically than traditional GPU-based systems.
