Dongin Law Firm (Managing Partner Hwang Yoonkoo) has strengthened its competitiveness in the criminal law sector by recruiting three former prosecutors who have held key positions in the prosecution service.
On December 3, Dongin announced that it has recruited attorneys Choi Insang (32nd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute), Cho Gwanghwan (32nd class), and Lee Gonho (33rd class), all of whom left the prosecution this year.
Attorney Choi graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in public law and began his career as a prosecutor at the Ulsan District Prosecutors' Office. He subsequently served at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and Cheonan Branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office. He has held positions such as Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Cheonan Branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office and the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Human Rights Officer at the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office Western Branch and the Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Chief Prosecutor at the Hongseong Branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office, and Human Rights Officer at the Daegu High Prosecutors' Office. Most recently, he served as Chief Prosecutor of the Major Economic Crimes Investigation Unit at the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office before resigning in November 2025. He expressed his intention to resign by posting on the prosecution's internal network in protest against the passage of the revised Government Organization Act, which included the abolition of the prosecution office.
Attorney Cho graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in law and began his prosecutorial career at the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office. He has served as Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Head of the Public Security Division and Head of the Criminal Division 7 at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, Head of the Public Investigation Division at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, Head of the Criminal Division 1 at the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office, Head of the Major Crimes Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office, and Director of the Unification Legal Affairs Division at the Ministry of Justice. In 2023, he led the prosecution's investigation team as the head of the investigation task force during the Osong disaster. After serving as Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office and completing a secondment to the National Intelligence Service, he concluded his public service career in September 2025.
Attorney Lee graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in law and worked at the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office, Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Cheonan Branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office, and Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. He has served as Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, Chief Prosecutor at the Yeongdeok Branch of the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office, and Head of the Criminal Division 3 at the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office. He also worked as a prosecutor in the Human Rights Investigation Division at the Ministry of Justice and as a professor at the Jincheon Main Campus of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. While serving as Head of the Criminal Division 1 and Head of the Human Rights Protection Division at the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, he prosecuted cases involving large-scale voice phishing organizations and defamation cases related to the YouTuber 'Talduk Suyongso.' Attorney Lee joined Dongin after leaving public office in September 2025, following his tenure as Head of the Human Rights Protection Division at the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office.
Dongin aims to further strengthen its capabilities in responding to criminal and human rights cases through these new recruitments.
