Kumoh National Institute of Technology and Samsung Electronics to Operate 'Smart Factory Academy'

Agreement Signed with ESG & Smart Factory Support Center
Providing Advanced, Hands-On Educational Content and More

Kumoh National Institute of Technology announced on December 1 that it has signed a business agreement with the ESG & Smart Factory Support Center of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (headed by Lee Kwangryul).


This agreement was established to enhance the smart factory capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as mid-sized companies, and to support the construction of smart factories utilizing AI.


Based on this agreement, the two organizations will share knowledge and infrastructure, and cooperate in nurturing talent essential for smart manufacturing innovation in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.


The main initiatives of the agreement include: ▲Utilizing physical and human resources for the efficient operation of the Smart Factory Academy program ▲Operating AI-specialized training courses with expert instructors ▲Providing advanced, hands-on educational content and improving the curriculum ▲Cooperating on equipment utilization and maintenance based on the Smart Factory Testbed.

Lee Kwangryul, Head of the ESG & Smart Factory Support Center at Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., stated, "This agreement to operate the Smart Factory Academy in collaboration with Kumoh National Institute of Technology will serve as a crucial stepping stone for accelerating the digital transformation of small and mid-sized enterprises. We will do our utmost to cultivate core talent who can be immediately deployed in the field through practical, hands-on AI and smart manufacturing education."


Lee Jonghwan, Head of the Smart Green Manufacturing Innovation Project Group at Kumoh National Institute of Technology, said, "By combining the strengths of both organizations, we expect to provide more advanced educational content and opportunities to utilize the testbed. We will continue to contribute to the creation of a smart manufacturing innovation ecosystem through transparent and fair cooperation."
