Singer Kim Janghoon has drawn attention by revealing his past connection with President Lee Jaemyung. On November 28, Kim appeared on the YouTube channel "Maebul Show" and shared that he met President Lee when Lee was the mayor of Seongnam. Kim said, "The President used to call me 'hyungnim' (older brother), but I told him not to." When the host asked if they were the same age, Kim replied, "I was born in 1963, I'm 63 years old (62 by international age), and I was born in the Year of the Rabbit. I'm one year older than the President." President Lee was born in 1964.

Kim Janghoon, who spoke about his relationship with President Lee from his Seongnam mayor days, said, "At that time, I almost became close to him by singing 'Dokdo.' I told him, 'Both you and I have strong personalities, so if we meet, people might label us as leftists. Let's not get too close.'" Kim added, "When the President called me 'hyungnim,' I looked it up and saw he was born in 1964. So I told him not to call me that."
When the host remarked, "The President feels like an elder of our country. It's rare to be older than the President," Kim Janghoon joked, "I was really surprised too. I never even thought I would live this long." He continued, "I really enjoy getting older. In two years, I'll be able to ride the subway for free and receive a 600,000 won national pension. I plan to give everything away in this lifetime."
