The Korea Housing Managers Association recognized Yangsan City’s systematic improvements in apartment administration by presenting a plaque of appreciation to Byun Giho, Head of the Apartment Housing Division. The association highly evaluated the city’s ongoing efforts to strengthen management capabilities, which align with the local characteristic that over 80% of residents live in apartment complexes.
Yangsan City has institutionalized job training for management entities to enhance professional expertise and was the first local government in Gyeongnam Province to establish an Apartment Management Support Center Team, thereby expanding on-site consulting services. The city also operates an advisory panel composed of experts from various fields to provide tailored on-site support.
Furthermore, to strengthen transparency in overall management, Yangsan City has actively utilized the apartment management audit system to inspect core areas such as budget execution and the operation of resident representative councils. This has helped prevent disputes and raise the management standards of individual complexes. Based on audit results, the city has provided additional consulting to complexes in need of improvement, supporting effective problem-solving.
Byun Giho, Head of the Apartment Housing Division, stated, “Efficient management of apartment complexes is a crucial factor directly tied to residents’ living environments. We will continue to work with the Housing Managers Association to pursue apartment administration that satisfies both residents and management entities.”
