Contributing to Regional Environmental Improvement and Carbon Reduction

According to the county, the event was attended by County Governor Choi Youngil, Sunchang County Council Chairman Son Jongseok, Kim In, Head of the Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters of the Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged, and about 130 senior participants of the Senior Employment Project.
In particular, the event featured a donation ceremony where members of the Senior Resource Recycling Group and the Used Battery Collection Promotion Team, who had been active throughout the year, donated 12,598,652 won in proceeds, 684 boxes of tissues, and 1,640 batteries, creating a warm atmosphere.
During the meeting, the achievements of this year's environmental sector Senior Employment Project were shared. Over the past year, the Senior Resource Recycling Group collected, sorted, washed, and compressed 2,638,083 used PET bottles (31,657 kg), which were then processed into recyclable resources.
The Used Battery Collection Promotion Team collected 16,400 used batteries, contributing to regional environmental improvement and carbon reduction.
The donation ceremony was held immediately after the meeting, and the donated items will be delivered through the Community Chest of Korea’s designated donation system to be used for support projects for vulnerable groups in the county.
County Governor Choi Youngil stated, "The activities of seniors who protect the environment and contribute to the local community are truly inspiring," adding, "We will continue to actively support the positive virtuous cycle of senior employment in the future."
