Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Paik Kyunghyun) announced on November 28 that the "Visiting Dialogue with Citizens," held to mark the 40th Citizens' Day by touring three stations on the Byeollae Line from the 10th to the 27th, was successfully concluded with high citizen participation.

This event was a field-oriented communication program in which the mayor visited citizens directly to listen to their everyday inconveniences and policy suggestions. It was held a total of six times at Guri Station, Donggureung Station, and Jangja Lake Park Station.

During the event, citizens were able to submit their opinions in advance using QR codes and attached notes, and active on-site Q&A sessions took place, allowing for a wide range of interests and voices to be directly communicated.

During the dialogue, the main topics of interest were the development project of the Guri Hangang Topyeong Housing District (Topyeong 2 District), a project Guri City has pursued for 30 years, and whether the city would be incorporated into Seoul. Guri City presented its vision to transform from a mere commuter town into a self-sufficient, eco-friendly city through this project.

The main questions raised included: ▲ whether Guri City would pursue incorporation into Seoul ▲ plans for creating a smart green city in the Guri Hangang Topyeong Housing District ▲ the current status of the Inchangcheon ecological stream restoration project ▲ improvements to bus routes for commuters ▲ and the installation of a noise barrier tunnel on the Northern Arterial Road, as well as other major city issues and civil complaints directly related to citizens' daily lives.

Guri City plans to share the collected opinions with relevant departments and promptly review those that can be reflected in city administration.
