The first and only legal expo in Korea, and the first of its kind in Asia, is set to take place.
The Law Times (CEO Lee Suhyeong) announced on November 28 that it will host the "Law Expo Seoul 2025" (LES 2025) at Hall 2 of the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, from December 3 to 5.
Co-hosted by The Law Times, In-House Counsel Forum, and Messe Esang, this event will explore the future direction of the legal industry under the theme "Beyond Market Toward Industry" (From a 7 trillion won market to a 70 trillion won industry).
The exhibition booths at this expo are organized into five categories: law firms, legal digital transformation (DX), legal and compliance technology, branding support, and public institutions.
Ten major law firms-including Kim & Chang, Bae Kim & Lee, Lee & Ko, Yulchon, Sejong, Hwawoo, YK, Jipyong, Barun, and DR & AJU-as well as legal tech companies such as Law & Company, Law & Good, and LexisNexis, and a total of over 50 companies from various sectors comprising the legal industry ecosystem, will set up booths to welcome visitors.
During the three-day event, the first conference hall will host forums under the title "Shaping the Legal Future," with daily themes: "Beyond Market Toward Industry" (December 3), "Small Firms, Big Growth" (December 4), and "The Legal Frontier" (December 5). These forums will provide insights and trends across the legal industry, from legal tech to policy trends and law firm growth cases.
The opening day will feature a keynote speech by Lance A. Etcheverry, partner at the global law firm Skadden Arps, followed by lectures from prominent legal professionals such as Jung Jaeheon, CEO of SK Telecom; Kim Sangmin, attorney at Bae Kim & Lee (head of the HR & Labor Group); Jo Inseon, partner at YK Law (head of the Serious Accident Center); and Han Mooncheol, CEO and lead attorney at Sseusuro.com, among others.
The second conference hall, titled "Growing Together," will present innovative solutions from leading legal tech and AI companies, along with a variety of programs such as the "Career Conference" and "Mentoring Lunch."
The "Mentoring Lunch," inspired by the famous lunch with Warren Buffett, offers participants the opportunity to dine and share real-world experiences and insights with senior attorneys from major law firms and in-house counsel from global corporations. Free career coaching will also be provided by top search firm consultants. A special seminar will be held by Park Youngsun, former Minister of SMEs and Startups and senior research fellow at Harvard Kennedy School, who has researched semiconductor and AI policy.
In addition, a free legal counseling booth will be operated throughout the expo, offering one-on-one legal consultations for the general public and on-site litigation funding support events.
A representative from The Law Times stated, "LES 2025 will provide networking and business opportunities for legal professionals and help lower the barriers to legal services for the general public. We aim to establish ourselves as Asia's leading legal industry platform."
Admission to the expo is free with pre-registration until the day before the opening, and detailed schedules and programs can be found on the official website (lawexposeoul.com).
