A Total of 10 Hires This Year
Continued Success in Training Eco-Friendly Automotive Professionals in the Southeastern Region
Two graduates from the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) have been officially hired as '2025 Kia Motors Engineers (Production Division).'
This achievement follows the successful hiring of eight graduates in the Kia Motors Production and Technical Internship K recruitment rounds held in February and July. With these latest results, the department has produced a total of 10 successful candidates for Kia Motors this year alone.
The Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is recognized as a highly competitive program, with many graduates securing positions in production roles at major corporations such as Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors, SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Hyundai Rotem. In particular, the department demonstrated its expertise this year by sending 10 graduates to Kia Motors, where the average annual salary is around 100 million KRW.
Kim Taewan, one of the newly hired graduates, transferred from the Department of Civil Engineering to the Department of Electric Vehicles and worked as a teaching assistant while preparing for employment, ultimately achieving final acceptance. Lee Seojun (Class of 2023) also succeeded after completing both the undergraduate and advanced major courses.

Additionally, Lee Youngseung, who completed the advanced major course in 2021, was also hired in the second half of 2025 as a production employee at Hyundai Motor Company, continuing the department's strong employment record. The department expects even greater employment outcomes for its graduates, as both Kia Motors and Hyundai Motor Company plan to expand production hiring in 2026.
Graduate Kim Taewan stated, "There were many difficult times after transferring, but thanks to the education and guidance provided by the department, I was able to achieve this positive result," expressing his gratitude to his professors.
Professor Lee Sangjun of the Department of Electric Vehicles said, "Our department offers the highest level of educational environment in the southeastern region, focused on automotive maintenance and production. I am very pleased that our graduates have proven the competitiveness of vocational colleges through their abilities."
Established in 1995, the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has produced over 5,000 automotive professionals to date. As the only institution in the southeastern region specializing in eco-friendly automotive education for industry, the department is actively engaged in various workforce development projects, including Busan City's 'BB21+ Eco-Friendly Automotive Workforce Development Project,' the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Work-Study Dual System for Enrolled Students,' and the 'Cheonghaejin University Project.'
