Promoting the Creation of a Sustainable Work and Living Environment
Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province has taken proactive steps to improve the welfare of employees at local companies.
On November 25, Icheon City announced that it had signed a "Win-Win Partnership Agreement" in the main conference room at City Hall with 14 local semiconductor and investment agreement companies to enhance employee welfare.

The agreement includes participation from Lotte Premium Outlet Icheon, Simmons, Aekyung Asset Management, Eden Nakwon, DS Techno, Value Engineering, VM, BCNC, Youngjin IND, Eugene Technology, TH Tech, HCT, Highland Food, and Jaehyun Intex.
This agreement is the result of expanding the discussion on "improving employee welfare and supporting long-term service," which was raised at a working-level meeting of the Semiconductor Companies Council in July, to include general companies in the city.
Earlier, following the launch of the 8th popularly elected city administration, Icheon City established the "Icheon City Semiconductor Companies Council" in July 2023 with eight local semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment companies, sharing various issues and building a collaborative system to strengthen the competitiveness of the semiconductor industry.
In addition to the eight semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment companies, the city directly visited companies such as Lotte Premium Outlet Icheon, Simmons, Termeden, and Eden Paradise to request cooperation, which led to their participation in the agreement.
Under the agreement, participating companies have pledged to strengthen the foundation for mutual growth and cooperation across the local industry by providing a variety of welfare benefits to their employees.
Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon City, stated, "Building a mutually beneficial cooperative structure where companies and workers grow together is at the core of supporting businesses," adding, "Starting with this agreement, we will actively support companies so they can create a better welfare environment in partnership with the local community."
