This event was organized to share the achievements of the Insight Group operated this year and to discuss key science and technology issues for establishing Busan's mid- to long-term future growth strategies.
Since March, BISTEP has operated an Insight Group for about six months, consisting of four divisions: AI & Digital, Bio & Health, Manufacturing & Mobility, and Marine & Energy.
This group, which included 21 experts from various fields, systematically analyzed the directions for technology and industrial policies that Busan needs to secure, and identified more than 35 policy issues.
During the performance sharing meeting, the chairpersons of each division presented the major science and technology issues identified and Busan's response strategies. In the subsequent division meetings, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the feasibility of the proposed issues and ways to apply them to policy.
BISTEP President Kim Youngboo stated, "Science and technology are the core foundation for Busan to secure future growth engines," adding, "We will actively support the practical incorporation of the policy issues presented at the performance sharing meeting into Busan's future industrial and technology strategy planning."
