Discussing Cooperation Strategies for Joint Climate Crisis Response between Local Governments and Public Institutions
The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service (President Park Jonggil) held the "Carbon Neutrality Practice Campaign and Communication Meeting" on November 25, together with Jung-gu, Ulsan (Mayor Kim Younggil), to promote climate crisis response and the spread of carbon neutrality practices.
This event is part of the ongoing activities that have been held annually since the Service and Jung-gu, Ulsan signed the "Business Agreement for Creating a Garden City Where Everyone Wants to Live and Practicing Carbon Neutrality" in 2023.
This year, around 20 employees from the Service and Jung-gu Office participated in weed removal and environmental cleanup activities at the Green Seed Garden in the Innovation Rest Park next to the Service.
President Park Jonggil and Mayor Kim Younggil toured the Green Seed Garden together and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between local governments and public institutions in jointly responding to the climate crisis, including the creation of a garden city, expansion of carbon-reducing green spaces, and collaborative efforts linked to the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo.
President Park Jonggil stated, "I hope that the Service’s efforts for eco-friendly management and Jung-gu, Ulsan’s policy to spread garden culture will naturally connect to further solidify the foundation for carbon neutrality practices in the region," adding, "We will closely cooperate with Jung-gu, Ulsan to create a model case of sustainable carbon neutrality practices."
