"Ensuring a Safe Tap Water Supply"

Iksan City in North Jeolla Province is operating both a 'Tap Water Quality Inspection' and a 'Home Tap Water Safety Confirmation Program' so that residents can experience the safety of their tap water firsthand.

According to the city on November 25, the 'Tap Water Quality Inspection' covers 11 items, including general bacteria, while the 'Home Tap Water Safety Confirmation Program' tests for 6 items related to aging pipes, such as iron, copper, and zinc.

Residents can request a water quality inspection by contacting the Waterworks Department if they notice any issues with their tap water. The safety confirmation program can be requested through the Waterworks Department or the Water Love website.

In addition, the city conducts regular monthly inspections of water purification plants and regional tap water to ensure a safe water supply.

The tap water produced and supplied by purification plants undergoes comprehensive testing, including 59 drinking water quality items and 3 monitoring items. Furthermore, at 51 general faucets across the city, 4 items including general bacteria are tested, and in 2 areas with aging pipes, 10 items including manganese are inspected, all of which have passed the monthly suitability assessment.

The regional tap water produced at the Gosan Water Purification Plant of the Korea Water Resources Corporation's North Jeolla Regional Headquarters and supplied to Iksan City has also been confirmed to meet drinking water quality standards.

A city official stated, "We operate various inspection systems to increase public trust in tap water," and added, "We will continue to do our best to manage and provide water that residents can trust and drink."
