Win-Win Growth Merit Awards Ceremony Held

An event was held to encourage win-win growth between large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and to present awards to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding cooperation activities.

On the 25th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that, together with the Win-Win Growth Committee, it held the "2025 Win-Win Growth Week Ceremony" at the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The Win-Win Growth Week Ceremony is an annual event, held since 2004, designed to encourage win-win growth between large corporations and SMEs, and to raise public understanding and interest in cooperative partnerships.
In her encouragement speech, Minister Han Sung Sook of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups stated, "Over the past 20 years, the government has made significant efforts to spread a culture of cooperation through close communication with the field, and private companies have actively responded and contributed greatly." She added, "Going forward, the Ministry will expand the scope of win-win cooperation beyond manufacturing-centered subcontracting relationships to areas such as distribution platforms and finance. We will also promote cooperation among a variety of stakeholders, including not only partner companies but also non-partner companies, startups, and small business owners, in order to further spread win-win cooperation."
In his welcoming remarks, Win-Win Growth Committee Chairman Lee Dalgon emphasized, "Win-win growth is a core value that recognizes the diverse stakeholders involved in all stages of business activities as cooperation partners and strengthens each other's growth foundations. We must further expand the scope of cooperation to enhance not only corporate competitiveness but also the capabilities of the entire industrial ecosystem."

During the ceremony, an award ceremony was also held to recognize outstanding achievements in win-win growth between large corporations and SMEs. The Win-Win Growth Merit Award is presented to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to various win-win activities, such as contributing to the win-win cooperation fund, spreading the performance sharing system, supporting win-win R&D and smart factory establishment, and jointly entering overseas markets.
The Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit was awarded to Eom Jaehoon, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics. As the head of the Win-Win Cooperation Center at Samsung Electronics, Eom has overseen win-win cooperation policies, including contributions and support for the win-win cooperation fund, support for the establishment of win-win smart factories, efforts to expand the supply price indexation system, and the expansion of the win-win payment system, thereby contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs and addressing polarization.
The Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit was awarded to Kim Jongbaek, CEO of Daejin Machinery Industry. Kim was highly recognized for helping to establish a technology cooperation model among large enterprises, mid-sized companies, and SMEs through win-win R&D. His efforts to localize secondary battery pouches for electric vehicles, which previously relied on imports from Japan, and to secure technological competitiveness through process development, contributed to the advancement of the secondary battery industry.
The Industrial Service Medal was awarded to Park Sungchul, Head of External Cooperation at Lotte Department Store. Park has overseen Lotte Department Store's win-win growth strategy, contributing to overall cooperation in the distribution sector through the operation of win-win programs, the performance sharing system, support for partner companies' technology protection, and ESG support. He was also recognized for his efforts in building a win-win model by continuously planning workshops to strengthen communication with SME partners and operating training programs to enhance the work capabilities of partner company employees.
Starting with the Win-Win Growth Week Ceremony, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will hold follow-up events to further spread the culture of win-win growth. On the 27th, an "Outstanding Performance Sharing Case Presentation" will be held, and on December 4, the "Win-Win Payment Expansion Day" and the "Outstanding Company Award Ceremony for Supply Price Indexation" are scheduled to take place.
