Muan County, South Jeolla Province, announced on November 24 that it held a completion ceremony for the 'Sports Park Multipurpose Gymnasium' at the Muan Sports Park on November 22, marking a new milestone in expanding the region's sports infrastructure.

The event was attended by County Governor Kim San, National Assemblyman Seo Samseok, County Council Chair Lee Hoseong, provincial and county council members, heads of related organizations and groups, and around 150 local residents, who gathered to celebrate the completion.

The Sports Park Multipurpose Gymnasium, which includes a kendo hall and multipurpose stadium, was built within the Muan County Sports Park in September this year. The facility was constructed with a total project cost of 20.8 billion won, featuring one basement level and three above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 6,424 square meters. The county expects this facility not only to accommodate various indoor sports activities but also to serve as a 'comprehensive sports hub' capable of hosting large-scale competitions.

The completion ceremony included congratulatory speeches from the county governor and key guests, a ribbon-cutting, and a tour of the facility. Following the ceremony, the opening of the '2025 Muan County Sports Festival for All' was also held at the same venue, bringing vibrancy to the Sports Park area with the participation of the guests.

Kim San, Governor of Muan County, stated, "The completion of the multipurpose gymnasium is a significant achievement in securing the health rights of our residents and enhancing the region's sports competitiveness." He added, "We will actively attract training teams and host various competitions to create a synergy effect for revitalizing both the local economy and the Sports Park."
