Securing Future Growth Engines

Iksan City in North Jeolla Province and Wonkwang University will hold the "Artificial Intelligence Industry Ecosystem Development Forum" on November 27 at the main conference room of Wonkwang University.
According to the city on November 24, the forum aims to discuss strategies for securing future growth engines by integrating the industrial base of Iksan and North Jeolla Province with physical AI technologies, at a time when artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming industries. About 40 representatives from industry, academia, and research institutions are expected to attend.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Park Seungdae, aide to National Assemblyman Chung Dongyoung. The presentation will focus on the growth potential through the combination of North Jeolla Province's manufacturing and agro-bio industries with physical AI, industrial innovation and regional balanced development strategies based on new technologies, and the roles of North Jeolla Province and Iksan within the context of national AI policy trends.
Subsequent presentations will introduce regionally tailored development strategies, including plans for building an AI research and development ecosystem in North Jeolla Province and Iksan, strategies for advancing the agricultural machinery industry through physical AI integration, and the application of next-generation AI models directly utilized by domain experts.
In-depth discussions will also be held on strengthening the technological capabilities of local companies, establishing systems for nurturing AI professionals, introducing automation and intelligence technologies in agricultural machinery, and sharing real-world case studies from industrial sites.
A city official stated, "This forum will serve as an important starting point for Iksan to emerge as an AI-driven innovation city," adding, "We will actively pursue policies that citizens and businesses can truly experience, so that the AI industry can bring real changes to the local economy and job market."
