A chauffeur for the family of a small-to-medium-sized enterprise chairman has been arrested for attempting to rob them at knifepoint.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 22nd that it had arrested Mr. A, a man in his 50s who worked as a chauffeur for the SME chairman, on the 21st.
Mr. A is accused of threatening a female family member of the chairman and an infant with a weapon while they were in a car in Gangnam District around 6 p.m. on the 19th, demanding cash (attempted aggravated robbery).
The victim escaped when the car stopped briefly and reported the incident to the police. The police apprehended Mr. A after accompanying him voluntarily, discovered the discarded weapon, and placed him under emergency arrest.
