According to the fire authorities, the fire started on the second floor of the four-story studio apartment building (multi-family house).

As thick smoke spread, eight residents evacuated on their own, but a man in his 20s and a man in his 30s were transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest and later died while receiving treatment.

The two deceased were colleagues working in the same field and were known to have been living together on the second floor of the building.

Another man in his 50s, who lived in a different unit on the second floor, inhaled smoke and received treatment at the hospital.

The fire destroyed household items such as the boiler and TV, as well as 56 square meters of the studio apartment, before being extinguished in about 40 minutes.

The fire authorities and police believe the fire started in a small room occupied by the man in his 30s who died.

The police plan to determine the cause of the fire through a joint investigation.
