On the 22nd, the Democratic Party held a special lecture at the main auditorium of Korea Energy University in Naju, Jeollanam-do, with around 1,000 party members and local residents in attendance. Jointly organized by the party's Education and Training Bureau and the Jeollanam-do Provincial Party, the event was designed to share the direction of national policy tasks and strategies for Jeonnam's industrial transformation.
The first lecture was delivered by Kim Wonyi, Chairperson of the Jeonnam Provincial Party.
At this event, Chairperson Kim explained the future strategies for Jeonnam's key industries under the theme "Jeonnam's Industrial Transformation: A New Path of Growth Led by the Democratic Party." He specifically addressed: ▲ the strategy for transitioning to renewable energy as Jeonnam's future growth industry, ▲ the importance of promoting a special law for low-carbon transition in the steel industry to achieve carbon neutrality, ▲ the need to establish institutional foundations for revitalizing the petrochemical industry, and ▲ the significance of creating a Jeonnam-style industrial policy foundation, including the enactment of the Jeonnam Energy Expressway Act.
He stated, "For Jeonnam to become a central pillar of the national industrial ecosystem, a systematic investment structure based on laws and institutions is needed, rather than simple support."
Next, Jeong Cheongrae, leader of the Democratic Party, took the stage as the second lecturer.
Leader Jeong, under the theme "APEC National Outcomes Report and the Democratic Party's Future Vision," discussed the trends in government policy and changes in the international environment, emphasizing that "the implementation of policies that party members and the public can truly feel will become the Democratic Party's competitive edge."
The event was further highlighted by the attendance of many National Assembly members representing constituencies in Jeonnam, including Ju Cheolhyun, Jo Gaiwon, Kim Moonsu, Kwon Hyangyeop, Shin Jeonghun, Lee Gaeho, Park Jiwon, and Seo Samseok.
The lecture was moderated by Lee Jieun, Deputy Director of the Education and Training Institute, and Kim Youngjin, Director of the Education and Training Institute, delivered a congratulatory address.
