Waterworks Headquarters Releases October Water Quality Inspection Results

The Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters announced that the results of the Ulsan tap water quality inspection conducted in October were found to meet the national drinking water quality standards.

The inspection targeted purified water supplied from the Hoeya and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants, covering a total of 60 items.

According to the detailed inspection results, all four microbiological items-including general bacteria, total coliforms, and Escherichia coli-as well as all 12 items for harmful inorganic substances such as ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, fluoride, and heavy metals, were either 'not detected' or 'below the standard value.'

In addition, all 17 items for health-hazardous organic substances, such as phenol, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride, were 'not detected.' Similarly, all 11 items for disinfectants and disinfection byproducts, including residual chlorine, total trihalomethanes, and chloroform, were also measured as 'not detected' or 'below the standard value.'

Furthermore, all 16 items for substances affecting aesthetic qualities-such as hardness, odor, taste, color, and turbidity-were each found to be 'not detected,' 'suitable,' or 'below the standard value.'

Additionally, water quality inspections of a total of 114 household and old pipeline faucets, selected based on the water-supplied population in each district, also confirmed compliance with water quality standards.

An official from the Waterworks Headquarters stated, "We will do our utmost to thoroughly manage the tap water supplied from purification plants to each household and conduct regular water quality inspections so that citizens can drink with confidence."
