Lowering Early-Life Insurance Premiums to Ease Monthly Cost Burden
MyBrown, a pet insurance specialist, announced on November 21 that it has lowered the entry barrier for young pets to obtain their first insurance policy.
The premium for MyBrown's flagship product, the Yellow Plan, ranges from 18,000 to 19,000 won per month for Maltese, Poodle, and Munchkin breeds (based on age 2), which is 20-30% more affordable compared to similar insurance products.
This creates an environment where guardians of infant and toddler pets can choose the most reasonable insurance when their pets are at their healthiest.
Additionally, MyBrown is increasing the appeal of enrollment by operating a dedicated program for younger pets called WelcomeBrown.
WelcomeBrown is designed so that pets aged 0-3 can enroll immediately after receiving a free health check-consisting of medical interview, visual inspection, palpation, and auscultation-at a MyBrown partner animal hospital, provided no abnormalities are found. The waiting period has been significantly shortened, allowing coverage for all diseases except patellar and hip joint conditions to begin from the following day.
For injuries and diseases related to joints, a 180-day waiting period applies, which is the shortest in the industry.
MyBrown maintains a structure that provides basic coverage for 12 types of high-cost treatments-including MRI, CT scans, endoscopy, burns, pancreatitis, and cancer treatment (oral and injection)-without requiring additional riders. The product is recognized for its balanced competitiveness in both price and coverage.
Lee Yonghwan, CEO of MyBrown, stated, "Pets should be able to start insurance without burden while they are healthy, so that guardians can easily manage their health through veterinary care. We will not only lower premiums but also continue to enhance coverage and the enrollment experience in ways that guardians can truly feel."
