A History Museum for Future Generations, Highlighting the UN Peace Heritage
On November 20, Gamrimsan Prayer Center in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do, held a thanksgiving service and celebratory event to mark the completion of the Gamrimsan History Museum.
The new museum is regarded as a symbolic space that preserves the long-standing faith traditions and prayer movement history of Gamrimsan Prayer Center, while also serving as a springboard to become a central hub for regional spiritual ministry.
The event began with the first part, a worship service. Lee Sangil, Chairman of the Board at Kosin University, led the representative prayer, asking for God's guidance for the prayer center and local churches. Pastor Lee Suhee of Chunju Beonyeongro Church then delivered a sermon with the message, "Remember Forever."
Following this, Jung Insu, President of the United Nations Peace Village, offered congratulatory remarks, stating, "This history is the history of Gamrimsan Prayer Center and the work of God. I hope the museum will ensure this history is remembered forever." The service concluded with a benediction from Pastor Choi Hongjun of International Shepherding Ministries.
During the second part, the celebratory event, National Assemblyman Kim Kihyun sent a congratulatory message, saying, "Gamrimsan Prayer Center is a spiritual haven for the faith community and a foundation of hope for countless people. I hope even greater blessings will abound in the future."
Gyeongsangnam-do Governor Park Wansu sent a congratulatory message, expressing his hope that the history museum would pass on the legacy of prayer to the next generation and serve as a milestone for deepening the roots of faith.
Religious leaders, including honorary pastor Lee Hanui of Busan Eunhang Church, took the stage to share messages of congratulations and encouragement. Attendees emphasized that the completion of the history museum would provide new momentum for the ministry of Gamrimsan Prayer Center and the revitalization of the regional spiritual community.
In particular, Chairman Lee Jeongmyeon personally explained the architectural design process, stating, "We naturally incorporated the image of Jesus Christ into the building while considering both structural and aesthetic harmony to enable modern spiritual training," highlighting the significance of the museum's construction.
All proceedings concluded with a closing prayer by Pastor Jeong Yeoncheol of Samyang Church.
Director Lee Okran is presenting a plaque of appreciation during the congratulatory event at Daesungjeon.
After the worship and celebratory event, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially announce the completion of the Gamrimsan History Museum.
Lee Okran, Director of Gamrimsan Prayer Center, remarked, "This building holds the tears, sweat, and prayers of the believers who have protected Gamrimsan for decades. I hope this place will become a spiritual haven for the Korean church and the local community, and a space of grace where the next generation can once again recover the power of prayer."
The building's functions are clearly divided by floor. The second floor is designed as a caf? space where visitors can relax and fellowship, while the third floor is an exhibition-style history museum highlighting both the history of Gamrimsan Prayer Center and the United Nations Peace Heritage.
Lee Eunho, Deputy Director of Gamrimsan Prayer Center, stated, "The spiritual journey of Gamrimsan Prayer Center and its international message of peace are harmoniously integrated in one space, creating a multi-purpose faith and cultural complex where spirituality, rest, and historical education coexist."
The prayer center has announced plans to strengthen spiritual leadership by operating a variety of ministries centered around the history museum.
Local religious circles expect that with the completion of the museum, Gamrimsan Prayer Center will evolve beyond a simple place of prayer to become a comprehensive faith platform encompassing both traditional faith and modern spiritual training.
The Gamrimsan History Museum is expected to play a new role as a center for spiritual renewal and faith education for believers in the Gyeongnam and Busan regions.
