People Power Party Launches 'Fake News Monitoring Committee' in Response to Ruling Party's Attacks on Oh Sehoon

Labor Committee Appointed, Including Kim Wisang

The People Power Party has launched the "Special Committee for Monitoring Fake News on Opposition Suppression" as part of its response to next year's local elections. This move appears to counter the government and ruling party, including Prime Minister Kim Minseok, who have begun targeting Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon.

On the 20th, Choi Boyoon, Chief Spokesperson of the People Power Party, met with reporters after the Supreme Council meeting and stated, "It is a concerning situation as the Lee Jaemyung administration and the Democratic Party are engaging in various propaganda activities, including the dissemination of fake news."

The special committee is chaired by Kim Seungsoo, a member of the People Power Party, and consists of a total of 15 members. Chief Spokesperson Choi said, "To respond proactively and actively, we have brought together committee members with expertise in media, law, and local government."

Additionally, a Labor Committee has been appointed to monitor the government's labor policies. The committee, chaired by Kim Wisang of the People Power Party, consists of 37 experts from both inside and outside the party.

Meanwhile, regarding the upcoming first trial verdict for People Power Party members Na Kyungwon and Song Eonseok, who were involved in the National Assembly fast-track (expedited bill processing) clash, the spokesperson said, "We hope for a fair ruling," and added, "We have repeatedly pointed out issues in the process where political actions are being judged in court, leading to the judicialization of politics."
